"Florals? For Spring? Groundbreaking." So goes the line from the fierce (and fortunately fictitious) "Runaway" (Vogue) editor Miranda Priestly, and she's got a point, we have seen the blossoming, uber-femme print before; but not like this.

This Spring, designers are updating the age old pattern by pixelating it, airbrushing it, altering the tone and medium these blooms are shown in; these aren't your grandmother's chrysanthemums; they're fresh to death.

Florals are an amazingly easy way to inject some color into your look and they do add a ladylike touch to even the otherwise unrepentantly androgynous. Should any doubts persist, just check out what the cool kids at Stolen Girlfriends Club are doing. In the past these guys have shown us ribcage full ashtrays and axe-printed sweatshirts, yet right now even they are repping petals pretty hard. The zeitgeist has spoken. And he's got roses on his breath.
