My Space: Lili Sumner

Lili Sumner is an Auckland-based model who has rapidly become a photographer and designer favourite – she’s been working with such favourites as Lonely Hearts and Jimmy D. She’s looking forward to walking in her first Fashion Week, where she’s been selected to appear in Workshop, Ruby and more. We visited her at her Ponsonby home to take a peek at her favourite vintage finds, accessories and designer pieces.

How do you like to dress? Kooky but cool.

Who are your style icons? Bjork, Nico and Verushka. Models Julia Frakes and Hanne Gaby Odiele have pretty great style too.

Who are your favorite designers? Lonely Hearts, Proenza Schouler, Acne, VPL, Arnsdorf.

Where do you shop? I mostly buy Vintage so in Auckland I go to Search & Destroy and SaveMart. My favourite opshop is the Chapel St Bazaar in Melbourne.

I also shop online at ASOS and Ebay. Little Black Crown and Children of Vision are really cute Auckland stores, they're both in the St Kevins Arcade on K'Rd.

What pieces do you wear over and over? At the moment I love my tortoiseshell Karen Walker glasses. Also a navy corduroy jacket I picked up for ten dollars seems to be a recurring item. And I keep finding myself buying mesh.

image_altWhat's the last thing you bought? A grey kilt from Salasai.

What do you love about your job? I often get paid in clothes and am surrounded by exciting people!

Which hair and beauty products do you use? Kevin Murphy hair products and Pot Of Gold Balm for any spots...

Five favourite things? Books, Lonely Hearts Lingerie, a good hair conditioner, beautiful photographs and my sisters.
