THE INSIDER
Guest Editor: Tiffany Low
Meet our April Guest Editor, the lovely Tiffany Low. Tiffany is the Fashion Editor of TheDownLow.co.nz and the new manager of Ruby in Newmarket. We caught up with her to do a little interview and she picked out her favourite pieces from our website ...
Who is your style icon and why? I don’t really have a singular style icon; I like to take inspiration from everywhere – what I see on the runway, street-style blogs, magazines, celebrities, or just people I happen to walk past on my way, on a day-to-day basis. If I had to list a few individuals that I deem dress really well, off the top of my head, I’d say Frida Gustavsson as I admire her effortless “model off duty” look; Olivia Palermo because she always perfects her whole look from head to toe and when I think of her, the word “chic” comes to mind; Nicole Warne from Gary Pepper Vintage as she is really daring with her garments and mixes vibrant colours (funny story, last year I actually had a spontaneous run-in with her in Sydney at the Zimmermann store – I saw a girl walking ahead of me in a really colour-blocked outfit and I thought to myself, “that whole outfit looks like something Nicole would wear” and the girl just so happened to turn around and what do you know – it was Nicole! And then of course, there are the classic favorites - Kate Moss, The Olsens, and if I could name a fictional character, it’d be Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl, because her preppy outfits are really sweet.
Describe your style in a sentence/word: My style really depends on my mood at the time; quite spontaneous but also somewhat subconsciously girly.
What’s your best style tip? Wear what you feel good in, don’t worry about what others think; have fun, and step out of your comfort zone from time to time!
What’s your can’t live without beauty/grooming product? I don’t really do much in regards to everyday make up but I swear by M.A.C. Studio Tint Moisturizer – a great tinted moisturizer that works like a foundation, providing excellent coverage, without being as dense. Eyedrops are also handy, especially if you’re like me and hardly sleep. I’ve actually started my own beauty blog [offdutybeautynz.wordpress.com] where I try new products every week and write small reviews, so it’s fun for me to play around and see what products work for me.
What’s your signature scent? Typically, I wear Viktor and Rolf’s Flowerbomb, but recently surpassing that, and slowly becoming my new “signature scent” is Christian Dior’s Miss Dior Cherie.
